Who I am

Hello, my name is Nioclás but most people call me Nick. I have been working in the field of personal development and therapeutic interventions for over 16 years. From an early age I have dedicated my life to helping people make life changes and supporting disadvantaged communities.

I began this journey by completing a Degree in Outdoor Education and spent 3 years between England, working with challenging young men involved with gangs, to Switzerland and Sweden delivering Wilderness Therapy Expeditions. Moving back to Ireland, I worked as a Youth Justice Worker, and Project Worker with Foróige and also co-founded the charity the Venture Out Wilderness Project, which is now among a small group of leading Outdoor Therapeutic Providers in the country. It has also recently won "The Most Impactful Outdoor Therapeutic Provider" Award by Outsider Magazine in the Country.

I am a qualified and fully insured Life Coach, a highly experienced Youth Mentor, Outdoor Therapeutic and Adventure Therapy provider and I am currently completing my placement hours for my M.A in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I specialise in working with a variety of clients such as young people who have become disengaged, angry, anxious, unmotivated and experience school refusal. I also specialise in working with adults and family members who are struggling to manage the changing dynamic of family life and are now stuck and are looking to make changes in their family life.

Through my work with Venture Out I run Wilderness Based Therapy Expeditions, provide 1:1 Adventure Therapy sessions with Children in Care for TUSLA and offer community based training. I have guest lectured in the University of Galway and Atlantic Technical University.
